YARNDALE 2015

We had a great day out today at Yarndale in Skipton.  It's turning into a lovely annual day out for myself, my sister in law and our daughters.  This was the third Yarndale and the third one we've attended.

If there is one next year I recommend that you go.  It's an excellent day with lots of lovely yarn, fabric, patterns and workshops.  It's a great chance to chat to fellow crafters and business owners.

It takes place at Skipton auction mart and there are regular buses between the auction mart, Skipton town centre and Skipton railway station, so if you want a break from Yarndale you can go an have a look around lovely Skipton.

NEW WIP

This is my latest project.  It's the first baby blanket that I've tried and I'm keeping it simple.  The stocking stitch area should have a lace pattern but given the colours of the wool, I thought it would look odd so am just using stocking stitch.  It it turns out ok it will be a gift for the class teacher my daughter had last year who is expecting her first baby next year.

Hello and Welcome

Hello and Welcome to my new blog.

I've created this to share what inspires me as a crafter, my creations, works in progress and anything else relating to handmade crafts.

I've been creating things for as long as I can remember.  I was taught to knit as a young girl by my Mum and Nan and I've loved making things ever since.

I knit all sorts of things, clothes, toys, dolls clothes, items for the home, hats, gloves and scarfs.  I also love to sew, my favourite is applique although this year I've decided I'm going to have a go at making some clothes.

My other goal this year is to learn to crochet.  I can make a basic chain but that's as far as it goes and having looked at beautiful crochet patterns and the lovely items my sister in law makes, has really given me the push to make the time to learn to crochet properly.

I'm inspired by many people, my family and friends and by some fantastic blogs.

I look forward to sharing my crafting journey with you all, and hopefully pick up some tips and hints from you too.  Blog suggestions are always welcome.

Thanks for reading

Michelle
